10th Annual Friends of the Poor Benefit

2018 Friends of the Poor BenefitPlan to join us for our 10th Annual Friends of the Poor Benefit on Sunday, April 22, 2018, 11 a.m. -3 p.m., at Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. The benefit raises money to help expand grants and other assistance to the many volunteers as they serve the poor in the communities across Cook and Lake counties; and the various programs and services that offer direct service to those in need including clients of the Pope Francis Center, a social services agency focused on homelessness prevention.

Festivities include Drury Lane's delicious champagne brunch and entertainment provided by our famous Church Choir Challenge. Attendees are welcome to participate in games of chance, and a grand prize car raffle, sponsored by Ray Buick, to help raise additional funds for those in need.

The Church Choir Challenge is open to any adult church choir of any denomination throughout Cook and Lake counties. Interested choirs are asked to submit an entry form at by March 7, 2018. The top five choir finalists chosen via online voting are invited to perform live at the benefit to determine a grand prize winner.

The grand prize winning choir receives a $2,500 donation, and each runner-up choir finalist receives $1,000.
