2018 Friends of the Poor Benefit
St. Mary captures "Church Choir Challenge" prize
Congratulations to St. Mary Church of Evanston for winning the 2018 Friends of the Poor Church Choir Challenge and the People's Choice Award via Facebook Live! Special thanks to all of the choirs, St. Alphonsus of Lemont, St. Benedict of Chicago, and St. Lambert of Skokie, for participating and sharing their music ministry with all of us!
More than 300 friends joined us on Sunday, April 22 at Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace to support and celebrate our many conferences and volunteers as they serve those in need in communities across Cook and Lake counties.
Festivities included the Church Choir Challenge, Drury Lane's famous champagne brunch, fun games and prizes including HDTV giveaways, gift baskets, premium wines, and a grand prize car raffle for a chance to win a 2018 Buick Encore from Ray Buick. Congratulations to Robert Gavin of Des Plaines for purchasing the winning ticket!
Special thanks to our emcee, Mike Puccinelli of CBS News, and our Church Choir Challenge judges, Fr. Anthony Dosen, C.M., Graziano Marcheschi, M.A. D.Min., and Anna Nuzzo.

The Robert Gavin family of Des Plaines and St. Paul of the Cross in Park Ridge won a 2018 Buick Encore from Ray Buick. The winning ticket was sold by SVdP Conference Member Tami Rohr of Prince of Peace in Lake Villa. As fate may have it, Tami also sold the winning ticket in 2016!
The very happy Gavin family receives the keys to a 2018 Buick Encore from Bill Soucie, SVdP Chicago Council President and Ray Gieselmann of Ray Buick in Chicago.
